Completely barring them access will make having them a hassle when they have to be moved so not a good way to go, much better to restrict their use and/or increase their vulnerability while in empire space. Former can be done by coding the same rules that apply to high-sec capitals, that is no hostile/targeted module activation whatsoever .. kind of harsh but the only way to remove the hot-drop blob. Latter can be done by tying invulnerability to sovereignty so that supers used for anything outside ones own dominion (incl. empire/low-sec) will be subject to points from noob frigs and all the shades of faggotry that represent low-sec.
Either way, they need considerably more of a nerf than what CCP has on the table .. the super blobs will have 1% (arbitrary number) decrease in power compared to now so has no effect on status quo. They will actually benefit even more from blobbing with the coming changes .. yay for CCP's grand vision and unrivalled intelligence! |

Rebnok wrote:Wow look at all these pubbie tears. Scrubs whining cause PL pushed there poop in. The thing is even without supers the better. Prepared and better skilled pilots will prevail. And no I am not talking about skill points. We will own you in t1 frigs. Perhaps, but since you lot (read: null monkeys) are too damn lazy to use stargates, that argument is academic at best. Since you (read: still all null monkeys) are very rarely seen in numbers that allow sunlight to pass or in sub-caps I'd go so far as to say: Bring it pubbie.
Hotdrops are in use not just because they are powerful/unscoutable but because they give people the "ability" to PvP from their recliners .. never being further away from home than the push of a button. Eve players has adopted one of the worst traits from CCP, the irrational fear of :effort:.

Would need to be High slots and drone-bay only or you end up penalizing shield supers .. however few there may be. |

Grath Telkin wrote:If you can't move supers through lowsec you essentially restrict all movement in EVE as everything would have to re route through 0.0, half of which is permanently cyno jammed. Aye, gonna be a pain and a half to move anything if null was only option.
Kind of like the idea of restricting supers to 0.1-0.2 and then having CCP manually tweak to create corridors with those ratings to create Eve equivalents to Panama/Suez and the two Horns for transit. Depending on what else is done to limit projection that might just provide a defensive buffer where a SteamRollee can waylay a paintrain and dismantle it before it reaches the 'burps .. if nothing else, will give the spies something to do when they no longer have POS PW's to extract
Grath Telkin wrote:IDGI, there are high sec carriers and dreads, so your idea is flawed from teh start, also your last line, level the playing field....do you realize what game you're playing? EVE is all about making the playing field as unlevel as possible for the other guy. No there really are not any capitals in high-sec, the second they actually do anything remotely associated with being fat-asses they are kicked out permanently .. they are for all intents and purposes museum pieces nothing more. As for upsetting the balance on the field, wouldn't Eve be better off if that was done by superior tactics, leadership and general combat prowess rather than 'whomever has gamed the system the most/used the most bots wins' which is pretty much what supers represent.
